I research to advocate for equity, dignity and social justice in global education.
Grounded in critical inquiry, driven by empathy, and committed to reshaping education for the most vulnerable.
Originally from Florence, Italy, I graduated at the University of Florence (BA in Modern Literature) and then at Alma Mater University of Bologna (MS in Linguistics).
After teaching high school in Italy during the covid-19 pandemic, I began my life as an expat and acquired experience in multicultural and international setting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. There, my career interests veered toward leadership positions in the field of education, and graduated again with an MA in Education and Innovation at Webster University (St. Louis, MO).
I currently live and work in Pristina, Kosovo, and study for Doctor of Education in Transformative Learning in the Global Community at the very same Webster University.
Through my academic preparation, I have developed a passion for global action through education, and intend to conduct academic research that is relevant to produce change in practices and policies for inclusivity of minorities and marginalized people.
Something else about me: I have extensive experience in fine-dining restaurant management; I initially landed in Uzbekistan as a trailing spouse -my wife working in international development- and it has been so for my last move to Kosovo, too; I have been a musician and a writer since a was a teenager and I publish online; I love eccentric clothing and I sport coloured hair from time to time.
