I dedicate my career to advocacy at the intersection of academic research and social justice. My work focuses on creating equitable learning environments and fostering innovative educational policies that empower students and educators alike.
My advocacy focuses on Trans and Gender-non-Conforming students' Rights and on the protection of TGNC activists in educational settings.
Advocacy for TGNC students in Italy
The work presented here is a motion proposal to the UN Conference to promote educational rights, inclusion, and activism, for TNGC students in the context of my home country, Italy.
Global Connections - Transgender Rights Movements in the U.S.A.
Here, I present a brief outlook on the Transgender Rights movement in the U.S.A.
The work focusses on (1) historical facts surrounding its birth and growth, (2) local contexts of activism and global connections, (3) analysis of the systemic issues that academic research can address, and (4) proposed pedagogical approaches and reforms.
Rationale
In recent years, I have lived, worked and studied in multicultural and cross-cultural environments (London, UK; Tashkent, Uzbekistan; Pristina, Kosovo), where I participated first hand in the exchange of ideas and habits. In alignment with UNâs Sustainable Development Goals, I embrace and promote an approach to education that is inspired and reflects the specific cultural environments and the variety of its voices. My research objectives aim at rediscoveringand democratizing the knowledge of the most vulnerable and the one of activists, for social action and lifelong growth through transformative learning.
Activists and vulnerable groups are often excluded from educational goals and reforms that are implemented in classrooms, and can face extreme difficulties being involved in public discussions. This exclusion is rooted in systemic inequalities -social, economic, cultural- that affect peoples locally in different ways, and is exacerbated by intersectionality of identities.
In my career and in my research I have found that support, advocacy and action are the ways to promote social change and progress. Taking into account the privileged position within my intersection of identities, I can advocate to acknowledge, investigate and change the current systems of oppression and exclusion -based on capitalism, patriarchy, oligarchy- and see justice spread.
